Whales in the Sky

“Whales in the Sky,” a  public art installation that  transforms the water tank located at 520 W 49th St., NY. This captivating artwork depicts sea life and spans an impressive 38 feet in width and 10 feet in height. 

“Whales in the Sky” tank draws inspiration from the bustling city of New York, known as the city that never sleeps. Amidst the concrete landscape, Carmen finds solace by gazing at the wooden water tanks with their simple yet ancient construction. These structures evoke a sense of bucolic warmth and help her reconnect with her own humanity.
